DAMATURU – Dr. Aji Kolomi, (Ajiko), a Yobe State All Progressives Congress Party (APC) governorship aspirant, has asked citizens to ignore rumour being circulated that he had withdrawn from the race.

The aspirant said this while fielding questions from newsmen in Damaturu recently.

According to him, “I have not taken any decision to renounce my intention of aspiring for APC’s gubernatorial ticket in Yobe as the false story was the handiwork of faceless mischief makers.

“The issue of stepping down for anybody had never come up anywhere and I am still in the governorship race of the party currently; I am engaging in extensive consultations with stakeholders on how to win the forthcoming primary election.”

He further said, “Contrary to the rumour, the Ajiko Campaign Organisation is making a forensic effort to convince the likes of Mai Malah Buni and other aspirants to step down for Dr. Ajiko being the most suitable candidate to move Yobe forward and that negotiation has reached advance stage.

“In case that failed, the fate of Dr. Ajiko and other aspirants will be decided by the APC delegates or members of the party at the primary election of the party come 28 September 2018”.
