…To Support This Year’s County Meet

The Management of Orange Liberia and the Liberian Ministry of Youth and Sports have announced that it has entered a partnership for the 2018 County Football meet.

The announcement coincided with the announcement of the official launch of the County Meet.

The pronouncement was made at a press conference held at the Ministry of Youth & Sports in Paynesville on Friday, November 2nd.

Orange Liberia’s Chief Executive Officer Mamadou Coulibaly highlighted that Orange Liberia was extending its sponsorship to the County Meet based on the company’s long-standing history of sponsoring football in Liberia and Africa.

Said Coulibaly: “As Chief Executive Officer of Orange Liberia, I am proud that as a company we are able to formally announce that we are now sponsoring the county meet.”

He went on to attribute the decision to supporting the County Meet to Orange’s long history of sponsoring football in Liberia and its important role as the official sponsor of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In response, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Dester Zeogar Wilson thanked Orange for its sponsorship of the County Meet, highlighting what he referred to as the long-standing history of Orange sponsorship of sports in Liberia. He stated: ““You are a prime sponsor and we say thank you ever so much for everything you have done for our county.”

He underscored that this year’s County Meet was being held under the theme: “celebrating fifteen years of peace.”

For his part, Deputy Minister for Sports G. Andie Quamie noted that county meet would formally kick off on December 16th and highlighted that for the first time, the Ministry would include a women’s soccer portion.

Orange Liberia’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Mr. Noel Chateau revealed that in addition to sponsoring the County Meet, Orange Liberia was also launching a quiz campaign which would allow Orange Liberia customers to win tickets to the county meet by answering questions related to the tournament.

Said Chateau: “all our customers have to do is to text the correct answer letter to 6615 for $0.10/10LD per SMS to be able to win tickets to the County Meet games.”

In addition to broadcast SMS, the questions are also available on the Orange Liberia’s facebook page.

According to Chateau, ten winners will be announced daily for the duration of the County Meet.

The County meet is one of the most heavily anticipated sports events in Liberia with its final matches drawing thousands of fans from across the county.
