In a surprising turn of events, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who connived with the Nigerian Army in the mass killing, rape and abductions of Biafrans in Abia State turns against the army , issues serious warning to all military personnel in Abia state.

Many speculates that Mr Ikpeazu must have been disappointed with Jubrin/ Buhari in Abuja, which triggered the unexpected reaction from the governor.

Meanwhile, tears has dried up from the eyes of Abia people as Nigeria army has subjected them into the worst possible treatment of human beings in modern times.

At least more 1000 persons has been killed by the army, dozens of rape and mass abductions reported daily in Abia state since they began the genocidal ‘Operation Python Dance II’

The recent developments by the Abia state governor is raising eye brows as many wondered what transpired between the Abia governor and Mr Jubrin in Abuja.

Mr Ikpeazu played an active role in the mass killings of Biafrans in Abia state. First and foremost he planned and allowed the military to come to Abia and commence their killings.

Secondly, he issued a curfew to enable the military dispose corpses of those they killed under the cover of the night and to capture Biafrans while they retire to sleep, a plan which worked out perfectly for the governor and his cohorts.

He allowed the abduction of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whose royal palace was a stones throw from the government house which houses the governor.

Okezie Ikpeazu will go down in the annals of history as one who sold his people for a morsel of food. In fact all politicians in Biafraland betray their defenseless people just to continue feeding from the crumbs under their master’s table in Sokoto and Abuja.

See press statement below.

Reports of the unwholesome activities of some men of the Nigerian Army who have formed the habit of subjecting members of the civil populace in the state to corporal punishments, and most times, extortion of money for no just cause have reached the Government of Abia State.

This is more prevalent along the Bende – Umuahia Road, Ohafia township and within Aba and its environs.

These acts are not only illegal and extremely provocative, they are also capable of triggering off some form of civil unrest in the state which can distort the peaceful atmosphere we have worked very hard to put in place in the state.

While the State Government has always indicated its preparedness to cooperate with all security agencies in their lawful operations within the State, we shall not condone a situation where the presence of the Army in the State becomes a platform to assault the basic rights of our people and subject them to inhuman and degrading treatments without any lawful excuse.

The Commander of the 14 Brigade, Ohafia and indeed all Heads of Army formations in the State are, by this notice, requested to closely monitor the activities of their men in the field and ensure that these untoward practices are stopped at once.

The Government of Abia State shall no longer condone this unwarranted assault on the people of the State. Our people, as law abiding citizens, are fully deserving of their basic freedoms and fundamental rights to life, personal liberty and dignity of the human person.

These rights are guaranteed under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the same law from which the Army derives its authority, and these rights can only be tampered with in accordance with laid down legal procedures and not according to the whims and caprices of individual Army officers.

Thank you.

Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Phd.
Governor of Abia State.
