NIGERIA: Suicide Bombers Killed 13, Injured 53 In Fresh Borne  Attack — Police

Nigerian Police has confirmed suicide attack, suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents, at Biu Local government, Borno State, saying the bomb was denoted by two females, killing 13 and 53 severely injured.

According to gathered report, the Borno State Police Command confirmed the incident which happened in the early hours of Tuesday, by two female suicide bombers infiltrated and gained entry into Biu town in Biu LGA.

In his word: “Today 2/2/2017 at about 1140hrs,

One of the bombers detonated IED strapped on her body within Biu Main market, while the other one detonated outside the market square.

“So far, a total of 13 persons excluding the two suicide bombers, have been confirmed killed in the two explosions.

“While 53 others sustained various degrees of injuries.

“Police patrols/EOD teams led by d Acting Area Commander Biu were promptly mobilized and dispatched to scene.

“The Corpses and the injured persons have been evacuated to General Hospital Biu. Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored and the area rendered safe.”

The total casualties recorded, as the time of the report, including two female suicide bombers increased to 15 and 53 injured.

The attack is suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents.
