Minister Kruah Discusses ICT Infrastructure

The Minister of Posts & Telecommunications, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah Sr. has held discussion with Mrs. Doreen Bodgan- Martin of the United States who was recently elected to the position of Director of Telecommunications Development Bureau (BDT) at ITU and Minister Kruah.

Accordingly, Minister Kruah outlined key areas within Liberia ICT for support.

He informed Mrs. Bodgan-Martin about the development of ICT sector of Liberia, partnership to develop the National communications backbone for connectivity across the country, investment in the Digital Migration Program, support to develop the National Cyber Security strategy, E-government program, assistance for staff capacity building among others.

Minister Kruah was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Technical Service, Mr. Prosper Browne to attend the ITU Plenipotentiary conference currently ongoing in Dubai and voted on behalf of Liberia.

Prior to Mrs. Doreen Bodgan-Martin historic victory in Dubai, the US government sent delegates to meet the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah Sr. on September 19, 2018.

The US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Alyson Grunder was accompanied by Rick Merrin, the Economic Officer at the US Embassy.

The delegates expressed willingness to support the ICT infrastructure of Liberia and identified areas in the ICT sector that need technical and financial support.
