Lubinda says Lungu begging him to rescind resignation – Zambian Watchdog

Given Lubinda says President Edgar Lungu is begging him to stay on as minister of justice despite writing to him that he wants to go.

But Lubinda tells his confidants that he will demand that the PF central committee should adopt all the resolutions of the National Dialogue Forum for him to stay on.

Lubinda resigned two days ago after the PF central committee rejected most of the NDF resolutions that Lubinda had been trying to infuse in the constitution. Some of the things Lubinda wants to be put in the constitution is the creation of the position of deputy minister and the article making it possible for creation of coalition government.

Earlier, Lubinda was manhandled by Kabwata residents who accused him of selling Kabwata market to Choppies.

According to Lubinda’s close associates, the Kabwata MP is claiming that Lungu received his letter of resignation with shock and had told him that his resignation could lead to collapse of government.

On Thursday in Parliament, Lubinda sat on the back bench instead of front bench where ministers sit. Speaker Patrick Matibini, when asked said Lubinda had sat on the correct position.
