Mosa Lebusa (Left) explains why he chose to join Mamelodi Sundowns over Kaizer Chiefs

He has further explained why he decided to link up with his new side ahead of the Soweto giants, Chiefs.

The ex-Ajax Cape Town skipper had numerous transfer links after the Urban Warriors suffered relegation to the National First Division.

He felt that it was time for him to make a departure from the team after serving them with distinction.

The big decision was which club he would eventually sign up with prior to the 2018/19 season.

But he ended up finding his way to Chloorkop rather than Naturena during the summer transfer window.

And so far, so good, he says he does not regret the decision he made to move to Sundowns.

He had to wait before getting an opportunity to play while also trying to adapt himself to Sundowns’ playing pattern.

But the 26-year-old centre-half ultimately did and has now played six matches in all competitions for the South African side.

Lebusa is set to start once more when Sundowns clash with the table-topping Orlando Pirates at Loftus Stadium on Saturday.

He has, however, now spelt out his major reasons why he chose to join the Brazilians instead of the Sowetans.

Lebusa feels there are more chances of winning trophies with Sundowns

“I felt that there are more chances of winning trophies here but yes, they [Chiefs] had great interest in me.

“You also have to look at the playing-time as that is the most important thing and obviously, winning as well.

“It does not make sense to me at all to get game-time and you are not winning,” Lebusa told KickOff.com.

“I also had to look at which team is going to make me a better person.

“There is a lot of good players and you have to up your game.

“In a way, I feel that it is going to raise the level of your game, they [Chiefs] were serious.

“But at the end of the day, the decision is mine and I ended up coming here.

“It is not easy as far as I know, though, but I think I made the right decision,” he concluded.
