Lawmaker Wants Free Tuition Legislated

Grand Kru County District # 2 Representative J. Fonati Koffa has called on the Government of Liberia to legislate the free tuition scheme for undergraduate students’ at all public universities.

Recently, President George Manneh Weah, Visitor to the University of Liberia announced tuition free for undergraduate students at the university as well as all public universities/colleges.

Speaking recently to Legislative reporters in Monrovia, Rep. Koffa said when the tuition free is enacted, every other government as President Weah, will be obligated to uphold it.

Rep.Koffa said society takes care of different class of people and the government agenda is to take care of the poor by lifting them through the tuition free policy.

He said those who are criticizing the free tuition policy that it will not work have not seen it before that’s why they are criticizing the government.

Rep. Koffa said those who doubt the sustainability of the tuition free policy will be made shame because the president is committed to sustaining it.

He said the CDC-led government is all about impacting the lives of the people especially the ordinary people.
