Kampala Serena Hotel, in Uganda, has been listed by CNN Travel among the seven luxurious hotels loved by royalty.

In the July 19 article, CNN gives a guide to travellers seeking to travel in the royals’ regal footsteps by unveiling seven places that royals have considered their favourites to stay.

Kampala Serena made it to this list and is praised for having “exceptional service” and that while there, guests are assured they will be “enchanted by the genuine warmth of Ugandan hospitality”.

Also highlighted in the profile is the hotel’s architecture and design influenced by Uganda’s cultural and natural heritage.

The guide also features Tivoli Palácio de Seteais in Portugal, Emirates Palace in United Arab Emirates, Cheval Blanc Randheli in Maldives and Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada.




Others are Gstaad Palace in Switzerland and Cliveden House in the United Kingdom.


These facilities, according to CNN travel, with their first-class hospitality, personalized service and luxury amenities have managed to capture the hearts of royalty whenever they travel by providing their essential needs.

Rated a 5 star hotel by Uganda Tourism Board, Kampala Serena Hotel’s rooms include thirteen suites, one of which is a presidential suite.

The hotel is part of the Serena Hotels Group and during the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) held in Kampala, it hosted Queen Elizabeth II of England.
