While the Nigerian military claim to have rounded up Shekau after the expiration of the 40 days ultimatum given to them to capture him dead or alive, Boko Haram have been wrecking unprecedented havoc in different parts of northern Nigeria. Within this Sallah period alone, there has been cases of Boko Haram insurgents massacring, raping and abducting people from IDP camps.
However, the latest of these killings is the slaughtering of 18 youths in an Internally Displaced Persons Camp, on Thursday, August 30, in Banki town, Bama local government area of Bornu State.
Afroinsider Reporters gathered that the terrorists group sneaked into the IDP camp and murdered at least 18 youths at about 11 pm and forcefully took away many others, including young girls and women.
The insurgents were said to have used swords, knives and daggers. Unlike Boko Haram, there were neither gunshots nor bomb explosions.
In another incident, the terrorists abducted dozens of people at Modu Perobe Area which at the border between Nigeria and Cameroon.
