…Minister Tweah Refutes Resignation News

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Minister Samuel Tweah has debunked reports that he has been asked to resign by President George Manneh Weah.

It has been rumored in some quarters that the Liberian Finance Minister was asked by the president to resign. Some people even suggested that the Minister was fired by the President.

But responding to a local daily (FPA) inquiry on Sunday, May 12, 2019, the minister said he still enjoys the confidence of the President.

He is quoted as saying that he has not tendered in his resignation neither has he been asked to step down from his post.

“The news is fake; I am still in charge of the economic management team,” Minister Tweah said.
