Asaba – Four Local Governments have qualified for the semifinal of the Chief James Ibori U-19 football tournament.
The Local Governments are Ethiope West, Patani, Ndokwa East and Aniocha North.
While Ethiope West and Patani will play the first Semi final today in the morning, Ndokwa East and Aniocha North will play the second semi final in the afternoon at Oghara Stadium.
On Saturday at the same venue, the third place match will be decided in the morning, while the final match is slated for the afternoon at the same venue.
It would be recalled that 32 teams registered for the tournament.
Kenneth Nwaomucha, Chairman Technical Committee, who spoke on Thursday, said that the tournament would end this weekend.
He advised the officials and players of the four teams who are already in Oghara to conduct their affairs with honours in order to be good ambassadors of their respective council areas.
According to him, former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori and host of others are expected to attend the final match on March 31 at the Oghara Township Stadium.
According to him, the state government was doing everything possible to discover talents so as to retain the state as the number one position in sports.
