Gov’t Launches 1.5KM Road Project

Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor on Saturday November 10, 2018, on behalf of President Dr. George M. Weah, launched a 1.5 kilometer road project in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

The road project, which has already commenced, links the Fair Ground Community in Buchanan to other surrounding areas in the City, according to a release from the office of the Vice President.

Speaking at the lunching ceremony, VP Howard-Taylor called on citizens of the County to put aside their differences, while encouraging them to work together for the general good of the County.

According to VP Howard-Taylor, the CDC-led Government sees road connectivity across the country as its foremost priority, adding that the 1.5 kilometer road project is just half of the total of 3 kilometers of road that is expected to be constructed in Grand Bassa County.

She used the occasion to also call on the Legislative Caucus of Grand Bassa County to seize the opportunity to work with the Company constructing the 1.5 kilometer road to help open other feeder roads.

In another development, the Liberian Vice President has extolled the Chinese Government through its Embassy near Monrovia for the level of engagements and assistance being rendered Liberia and its people.

Speaking at programs marking the Confucius Chinese Arts and Cultural Performance at the Monrovia City Hall over the weekend, VP Howard-Taylor enumerated infrastructural development, agricultural investment and health care delivery as areas the Chinese Government continues to make significant impact.
