Gor Mahia will face nine-time African champions Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup after the two sides were drawn in the Group D.

Unlike Gor Mahia, whose last and only continental glory came way back in 1987, Zamalek have lifted eight Caf Champions League crowns as well as one Confederation Cup, formerly Caf Cup Winners Cup.

Ahead of their group stage, the Egyptian giants eliminated Tunisian side Tanger.

The Kenyan champions will have to make a second trip in under a year to Algeria where they crashed out of the competition at the same stage last season to USM Alger.

But the opponents this time around will come from NA Hussein Dey who are currently eighth on the log in the Algerian League Professionelle 1.

Completing the Group is Angolan Petro Atletico.

Raja Casablanca, Hassania Agadir and Otoho d’Oyo will not require airfare for three away games after pulling their compatriots.

At least five Kenyan internationals plying their trades in Zambia also have a chance to clash at the continental stage after the Zambian Premier League champions Zesco United paired Nkana in the Group C.
