Before thousands of Zimbabweans troop out to the stadium to witness long expected transition of 37-year-old Robert Mugabe’s ‘detector-like’ regime, the embattled ousted former VP president, Emmerson Mnangagwa has substantively sworn in to elapse winning regime of Mugabe till next year.
Robert Gabriel Mugabe tendered a surprising ‘Notice of Resignation’ letter on early hours of Tuesday, to bring to an end his 37-year-old rule as a president.
Following the tragic process leading to Mugabe’s resignation, began on November 15 when military chiefs took control of state television (suspected to be coup move) to announce their intervention in the political crisis that had engulfed the ruling Zanu-PF.
After wide pressure to ascertain the disappearance of the missing Mugabe, the Chief of Army Staff, Constantino Chiwenga, strongly held that the action was not a coup, but soldiers nonetheless took over the streets in the capital, Harare.
Mugabe was not present at the transition event, according to report.
