The APC while condemning the shameful assault on former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Nuremberg, Germany says the opposition party, PDP owes the country an apology for its support to IPOB in the past.
In a statement signed by APC’s national publicity secretary Lanre Issa-Onilu, the APC said, ‘It is clear that PDP and its other shortsighted co-travelers who were the main cheerleaders of IPOB owe this country an apology. IPOB hid under regional identity to perpetrate criminality having recruited some misguided elements and miscreants’.
See the full statement below….
The All Progressives Congress (APC) strongly condemns the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu, immediate past Senate President and serving Senator by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Saturday in Nuremberg, Germany.
Those involved in the despicable actions and the organisation they represent are unworthy in character. No Nigerian should be assaulted in the manner Senator Ekweremadu was.
It is an indecent action and it is below the acceptable standard of behaviour expected of our citizens whether in Nigeria or abroad. It is however regrettable that some of the people and organizations who had offered these irresponsible elements open support in the past are raising their voices now. It would be recalled that the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leaders chose to play politics over a matter that called for collective patriotic actions when IPOB raised a terror group in the South East.
It is clear that PDP and its other shortsighted co-travelers who were the main cheerleaders of IPOB owe this country an apology. IPOB hid under regional identity to perpetrate criminality having recruited some misguided elements and miscreants.
Are we surprised by the PDP’s hypocritical reaction to the unfortunate attack on Senator Ekweremadu? No! The PDP and their leaders have acted true to type. This is what happens when politicians become myopic and allow narrow sentiments becloud their sense of judgement.
We all have a responsibility to collectively rise against evil wherever we find it and in whatever guise it appears. We hope lessons have been learnt from this unfortunate incident. SIGNED
National Publicity Secretary
All Progressives Congress (APC)

Crime was low and people were content when churches were not so rampant – Reno Omokri
According to Reno Omokri, ‘as a youth growing up in Nigeria, churches were not so rampant. Crime was low and people were content. As I grew up, churches became rampant.
As they increased, crime rose and discontentment grew. Perhaps Nigeria needs more contentment, and less religiosity? As a nation, we need to understand that it is righteousness that exalts a nation and not religion’.

Late Aaliyah immortalized with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds
18 years after Aaliyah died in a plane crash, the RnB star has lived on in many forms. The latest is a new wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.
Aaliyah’s wax figure at Madam Tussauds was unveiled on Wednesday August 21, immortalizing one of her iconic looks. Adam Morey, Studios Manager at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas revealed that the discussions on making an Aaliyah figure began over a year ago.
This set, rather than being a recreation of any one particular Aaliyah moment, was instead designed with a message to her fans in mind,” he said.
“It’s a message that hopefully reflects her everlasting legacy.”
The designer worked closely with Aaliyah’s family on the wax figure which was inspired by the music video for her smash hit “Try Again”.
Aaliyah was an American singer and actress who died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001, at the Marsh Harbour Airport on the Abaco Islands, Bahamas. She had just completed filming for the music video for her single “Rock the Boat”.
