President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza has congratulate incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya on his re-election as the president of Kenya.
Burundi is a strategic partner of Kenya in many areas, particularly trade, security (military), education, agriculture and energy.
In 2011, both countries signed a comprehensive bilateral agreement to promote development and technology transfer in agriculture, livestock and fisheries development between them

Pierra Nkurunziza who has been away from twitter for two weeks, resurfaced earlier today to congratulate his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta.
Uhuru won the much disputed Kenya polls after, his fierce rival former President Raila Odinga and other opposition pulled out of the polls.
Kenyan general elections were held in Kenya on 8 August 2017. Incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner of the presidential contest with 54% of the vote, whilst his main rival Raila Odinga finished second with 45% of the vote.
Meanwhile, Pierre Nkurunziza who is currently on his third term as president of Burundi called it quits from the International Criminal Court of Justice ICC recently.
