BENIN: David Babalola, Water Pleads Not Guilty

The Director General of the National Water Company of Benin, David Babalola, denies the allegations made brought against him in the case of embezzlement of 300 million FCFA of VAT.

Responding in Court on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Court of First Instance of Cotonou, he said to be a victim of a montage. The accused points an accusing finger on some of his collaborators who would have made this scheme.

Soneb was put under arrest mandate on November 7, he stays in the civil prison of Cotonou with the administrative and financial director as well as the cashier. At the end of the hearing on Tuesday, the case is postponed until December 12.

The stay of the Director General of the National Water Company of Benin (Soneb) continues to the civil prison of Cotonou for the next two weeks.
