AbiaPoly: SSANIP joins NASU to suspend industrial action

The members of Senior Staff association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP) have joined members of Non academic staff union (NASU) of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, to suspend their current industrial action.

In a statement forwarded to ABACITYBLOG by the Abia State commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the action followed the conclusion of the emergency congress of SSANIP today in the school premises.

The release signed by the Chairman of the SSANIP, Comrade Nwachukwu Chuks and the Secretary, Comrade Ugboaja Chigbo Fred, stated that the suspension is with effect from Wednesday, 16 May 2018.

It will be recalled that in another press release sent to ABACITYBLOG, published on Monday 14th MAY, 2018, the members of Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the institution announced the suspension of their industrial action following successful negotiations between the management and the unions.

The statement noted that the members of Academic staff union of polytechnics (ASUP) of the school are expected to hold their congress on Wednesday (today) to take a decision on the suspension of their industrial action.
