ABIA: Ikpeazu Hits The First Governor To Pilot E-health Service In Nigeria

In other to ensure increase in health services in Abia state Governor Victor Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the introduction of E-health delivery service known as Telemedicine.

Telemedicine is a brand new health delivery service delivered using your mobile phone to interact with a trained doctor. It involves a one-on-one interaction between a trained doctor and a patient.

Gov ikpeazu having been impressed by the development in health service the project will bring in to state called it a welcome development and therefor approved this.

DAIL A DOC( Company heading this project) have been in the state for past 6 months running test as regards the health development scheme to ensure a better result at the end.

Meanwhile the Governor has given the state ministry of health an approval to partner with the project consultants in this scheme.

The lead consultant, Dr. Omas Obama told Governor Ikpeazu during the demonstration that Abia is the first state in the country to successfully pilot this project which he said would revolutionize medical access in the country.

She explained that they expected a maximum of 2000 calls from patients, but recorded over 9000 from patients, an indication that the project was accepted and would be successful in the state.

According to her, the scheme would work with existing Primary Health Care Centers in the state.
