3 Questions Gowon Must Answer For Lying Against Late Ojukwu 47 Years After The Biafran Genocide

Arch Genocidist, Rtd General Yakubu Gowon said that Late Biafran head of state, Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu ojukwu’s lies about Aburi Accord led to the infamous Nigerian Biafran war.

Yakubu Gowon made this known while Speaking on AIT’s programme “People, Politics and Power,” on Tuesday, Gowon said the decision to go to Aburi was borne out of the desire to win back the trust and confidence of Nigerians.

He said the Federal Government went to Aburi unprepared, following a disagreement which broke out between the Supreme Military Council (SMC) and the Eastern region, led by Ojukwu.

The former Nigeria military dictator stated that the Federal government of Nigeria led by him went to Aburi unprepared, but when Ojukwu came, he read out his proposals which were all agreed.

Gowon said that both his delegation and Ojukwu’s delegations agreed that Nigeria shall be united and the parties agreed that he, Gowon, shall be the first to address the country.

He said that when he came back to Nigeria, he became sick and could not address the country however, David Ejoor told him that Ojukwu had already announced to the country that it was agreed that the country be divided.

Gowon said that what Ojukwu did was to tell lies about what happened at Aburi and that led to the war that consumed the lives of over ten million Biafrans (10,000,000)

However, there are a lot issues and contradictions with Gowon’s claims.

First, all these years people have been talking about the Aburi accord as one that allowed the Biafrans to be independent. Gowon never spoke out to say that what Ojukwu said about the accord was false.

He is finally bringing a different version more than fifty years after the war.

Secondly, why should Gowon be calling Ojukwu a liar now that Ojukwu is no longer alive to defend himself?

While he was alive, the former Biafran head of State, Odumgwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu was always talking about the Aburi accord as one that gave the Biafrans liberty, so why didn’t Gowon refute the content of the accord when Ojukwu was alive?

Thirdly, the arch Genocidist, Yakubu Gowon admitted that the federal government went to the Aburi meeting unprepared. Did I hear him say UNPREPARED?

What do you expect? The federal government of Nigeria led by Yakubu Gowon was totally outsmarted by an Oxford University graduate in the person of Ojukwu.

Possibly they were intimidated by the presentation of the highly learned and eloquent Oxford graduate that they couldn’t but agree on everything HE said.

Gowon Seems to have forgotten that even after the accord reached by Nigeria and Biafra in Aburi Ghana, the Biafrans were still slaughtered in there tens of thousands in the north of Nigeria which left Ojukwu with no options but to declare an independent state of Biafra.

How on earth would the arch genocidist say that he never disclosed the content of the Accord to Nigerians because he was ill? Gowon is obviously lying on this.

What does it take to inform the country in five minutes the outcome of the Aburi meeting when the country was on fire?

Common sense shows that the true content of the Accord was the version given by Late Odumegwu Ojukwu of blessed memory.

That was why Gowon never addressed the country about the Aburi accord even up till today that he is close to his grave.

Yakubu Gowon’s led federal government of Nigeria were in the the meeting and agreed to the division of the country but when they came back, they regreted the step they took and as a result they reneged to the agreement and resorted to the killing of Biafrans and ended up committing the worst genocide the world has ever known.

Meanwhile, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi NNamdi Kanu has filed a judicial action against the Perpetrators of the Biafran Genocide, which Yakubu Gowon was their Chief at the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICC).
